Under New Ownership, formerly the Seanote, the C-Note has always had a great reputation for bringing in some of the best roots bands throughout New England. And you can't complain about the view... located at Beautiful Nantasket Beach in Hull, make a day of it, come out and ride the antique Carousel and then party with In The House!

Awesome Day, Event and Show! Full House for the HSAR 10th Anniversary Party and Benefit... In The House took the stage at 6:30 and got people up from the First note to the Last at 8PM. We pulled out some old favorites that we hadn't played in years - Low Rider capped the night!

I am writing this letter of reference for the band In The House, not because I was asked to.... but because it is my pleasure. I had the most stress free experience dealing with the band and planning our wedding. Stephen was extremely pleasant and kind to work with. The band came up with the best set lists of songs that suited our personality, and were crowd pleasers for the young and old. Every song was done with such energy, and was performed so well.

The band In The House helped make our wedding day all that we anticipated, and so much more. Every person that attended the wedding remarked on them and their performance. I think they were an inspiration for all of my engaged friends planning weddings. When I think back on our wedding experience, I wouldn't change a thing! And the band helped make all of my childhood dreams come true.

The gauntlet has been dropped, the challenge accepted, and the date has been set for the sax battle of the year! The Rusty Scott Quartet returns to the Regattabar to present Battle of the Saxes, pitting the quartet’s own Tim Mayer against the gritty sound of Gordon Beadle (Roomful of Blues, Duke Robillard) and the sophistication of renowned tenor man Bill Pierce (Art Blakey, Tony Williams).

Pianist Rusty Scott leads the group as it pays tribute to the great tenor battles of yesteryear, trading eights and fours over breakneck tempos. Not just a jazz concert but a tenor sax free-for-all, the show features the music of Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis, Johnny Griffin, Sonny Stitt, and Gene Ammons, as well as original compositions by the quartet. The rhythm section features the incomparable Keala Kaumeheiwa on bass and Luther Gray on drums.

Together since 1995, The Rusty Scott Quartet has been one of Boston’s premier “Straight-ahead” Jazz bands. Having been nominated for a Boston Music Award for Best Jazz Band, they are often described as having that “Blue Note” sound.
